While I was living in the City of Groningen, in the Netherlands, I began training for a Marathon. Given that the cities in this country are much more friendly for the pedestrian than my native town (Mexico City), I decided to start an experiment: each day I would change my route so that I would be able to rove the most streets possible.
The course I followed each day was recorded in an etching which was printed in eight states. The number of journeys that are shown in each state was increased in relation to the Fibonacci series.
The series tells two stories in a parallel way. On the one hand, one can see the streets through which I was roaming. This way, while in the first state, only one line is visible, by the eighth state it is possible to identify the map of the city. On the other hand the series is an exercise of a self-referential work of art, since it also narrates the process by which the same etching was created.
